Internet/Mail Order

You can order Wooden Specs directly from this web site!  While ordering online requires a bit more "leg work" on your part compared to buying a frame from your local optician, it really is not that hard!  Just place an order from either our "Frames In Stock" page or (if you don't see the one there you are looking for), order a frame to be made for you from our "Order A Frame to Be Made For You" page.  Either way, we ship the frame to you (shipping is free), you have two weeks to make sure it suits you, and if it doesn't, we email you a prepaid shipping label to send it back to us (and we either refund your money or send you another frame to try on if you like).

After you purchase a frame you will need to get lenses to make them functional.  You can take them to your local optician (we recommend using a quality local optician–ideally they would do their own lens installations in their shop).  But we have worked out a relationship with an online lens provider (replacealens.com) who is familiar with the frames and does great work.  To encourage people to use that online provider, we are paying for the cost of single vision lenses from them as part of your frame price (you just pay the additional cost if you want bifocals, progressives, anti-glare, etc.).  We have found that customers really like having this new option for getting lenses!

To get going, you can start by looking at our Gallery to get an idea of what the frames look like in the four styles, the four wood species and the various paint and wood-burned-design combinations.  Then you might want to look at the Frames in Stock page, where you will see images of specific frames you can buy today (there will be some frames there that are unique and one-of-a-kind too!).  If you don't see exactly what you want in stock, order a frame to be made or contact us.

Order a Frame as a Gift for Someone Else–If you would like to order a frame as a gift for someone else (for them to choose a style, wood, etc.), we can provide a gift certificate.  Contact us for more information if you are interested.

Purchase–At this time we are really focusing on selling frames through the internet/mail order and so have tried to make the "at-a-distance" purchase experience as easy as possible.
